SOS Roma Soccorso chooses Conrad to cool the path of the faithful at Tor Vergata
On 3 August 2025, at Tor Vergata, thousands of young pilgrims experienced an unforgettable day on the occasion of the Youth Jubilee. The sun in Rome, however, gave no respite: intense heat, crowds and long waits could have endangered the well-being and safety of the participants.
For this reason, theSOS Roma Soccorso Civil Protection unit has chosen to rely on the Conrad dust suppression cannons, capable of transforming the path of the faithful into an oasis of relief.
In one of the busiest passages, a Conrad Phoenix Plus, mounted on a pick-up, provided immediate and targeted cooling: with its adjustable range of up to 25 metres, accompanied the pilgrims with a light, refreshing breeze.
In a wider area, however, the choice fell on the Conrad C72, a long-range cannon, supported by a tanker truck to ensure a constant supply of water. Here, cooling became a moment of collective relief, embracing an entire crowd.
We are proud that our cannons have contributed to make the heat more bearable and to concretely lower the risk of heat stroke on such busy days.
The dust suppression cannons Conrad were originally designed as tools for dust and odour suppression, but their versatility also makes them suitable for other uses. The same technology that protects construction sites and industrial areas is now also a valuable ally in event cooling: from concerts to sporting events, from cultural events to recreational events.
The Youth Jubilee was concrete proof of this: when technology and solidarity come together, even a cannon designed to fight dust and odours can become a source of well-being for thousands of people.
