Water: a priceless resource
Water is life.
Although our planet is about 71% covered by water, only 2.5% of this is fresh and available for human consumption. Even more surprising is the fact that less than 1% of fresh water is actually accessible, as the rest is trapped in glaciers or underground. Without it, nothing could exist: neither we, nor nature, nor the activities that enable us to work and live every day.
Yet, this precious resource is under increasing pressure from waste, pollution and climate change.
Water is a fundamental resource for life on our planet: indispensable for all living things (animals, humans and plants), necessary to keep our bodies healthy.
Unfortunately, its availability is not infinite, it is a limited resource, and this causes a number of critical issues on a local and global scale.
That is why it is essential to treat it with respect. How? By reducing waste, using it more intelligently and focusing on technologies that optimise its consumption. Only in this way can we ensure a sustainable future for all.
Our contribution as Cannoni Conrad
As a manufacturing company, we are committed to contributing to the preservation of this precious resource.
We design dust suppression cannons that run on a few kilowatts and a few litres of water: Conrad Phoenix Plus e Phoenix Power use 8 litres per minute, with a 1 and 2.2 kW fan.
We study the right combination of components to mist effectively without creating puddles, standing water or wasted water.
This is a positive result, because anyone who uses these products knows that they save money and (sometimes even without realising it) do the environment a favour.
On World Water Day, like many others, we reflected on how important it is to raise awareness of water as a “vital resource”. At the same time, we agreed that the big words flowing through the media must be followed by many small actions in our daily lives at home, and even more so in the office and the factory.
For our part, right from the design stage, one of our goals is to build dust suppression cannons that reduce water consumption while ensuring optimum dust control performance. It is a difficult balance, but one we constantly pursue.
