At the ferrous scrap collection site we installed the curtain misting system to create a dust barrier and stop dust escaping from the covered structure while the machines are working.
Here are some numbers and highlights of the work we did:
- misting line coverage: 30 linear metres
- positioning at a height of 9 metres
- in operator area installation of control unit and high-pressure pump
Results and benefits:
- dust barrier
- low water and energy consumption
- no puddles on the ground
Related but equally important positive feedback:
- Control bodies satisfied
In this case the customer needed to control the dust produced by the machines under the canopy: handling the stored ferrous material was generating dust emissions. Although the customer already had some dust suppression cannons, the request was for a system able to suppress dust without using fans.
During the site inspection we proposed a misting solution delivered by nozzles with a high-pressure pump, so as to create a barrier able to screen the dust, stopping it from escaping and directing it to the ground.
