Targeted suppression of dust and odours in landfills
The project south of Milan showed how the Conrad LC30R, combined with a dosing pump, is an effective solution for tackling emissions at isolated landfills.
Thanks to the automatic rotation up to 340° and the continuous coverage of the area, the system ensured constant dust suppression. The decision to install two LC30R units on a tower, both fitted with an odour control system, ensured total coverage, validated by inspections from ARPA (the regional environmental agency), which confirmed that the odour problem on site had been solved.

Landfills and waste depots can generate odours even when they are located in isolated areas far from urban zones. This was the case south of Milan, where Cannoni Conrad was called in for a dust and odour suppression test. During the site inspection we decided, based on the size and type of waste, to opt for three types of dust suppression cannons:
Conrad Phoenix with a range of 20 metres, short radius but excellent jet management thanks to the high-pressure pump.
Conrad LC30R with a 30-metre range and an important extra: automatic rotation setting up to 340°.
Conrad LC50R with 50 metres of range for greater coverage.
In the video you can see the site inspection, with tests of the various models selected for this situation.
The company chose to install two tower-mounted Conrad LC30R units with automatic rotation to cover the whole area; both were fitted with a pump to dose the odour-neutralising agent.
This solution was also approved by the ARPA officials who carried out the inspection and confirmed that the odour problem reported in the area had been solved.
Why suppressing dust and odours in landfills is essential
Landfills emit dust and odours from the decomposition of waste and the wind, posing risks to health and the surrounding environment. Fine dust, if inhaled, can cause respiratory problems, while odours reduce the quality of life of nearby communities.
The use of a dust suppression cannon such as the LC30R, with a chemical dosing unit to neutralise odours, makes it possible to mitigate emissions and increase visibility, while guaranteeing compliance with environmental regulations and protection of public health.
