Dust suppression in material loading area

In material loading areas, the Conrad Phoenix 'Bikini version' system with programmable rotation creates a fine mist that lowers and retains raised dust, improving visibility and safety.

Targeted atomisation on material loading area

The Phoenix system with 'Bikini' configuration is ideal for material loading areaswhere handling generates fine dust. Thanks to the programmable rotation and fine atomisationthe system creates a curtain of fog that retains suspended particlesreducing dust and limiting environmental dispersion

At the Cuneo composting site, we installed a dust suppression cannon in the material loading area.

The model chosen is the Conrad Phoenix equipped with programmable rotation in a 'Bikini' configuration. "Bikini' indicates that the gun and its slewing ring were installed at height, in this case on a 7-metre pillar; the rest of the system, i.e. the PLC and pump, were installed on the ground, inside an insulated box to be precise, to keep the components protected from the weather and out of the vehicle handling area.

The system has been programmed to trigger the cannon via a sensor when the loader passes near the ramp.

In this way, during the unloading of the material in the trailers, the cannon is able to hit the dust generation area with its spray.

Benefits of spraying on material loading

Applying atomisation at this stage brings real benefits:

  • Reduction of suspended dustimproving visibility and safety

  • Protection of operatorslimiting respiratory exposure

  • Less cleaning and maintenancedue to less dust accumulation

  • Regulatory compliancethrough targeted emission control

A simple but effective intervention to optimise plant performance and sustainability.
