misting system on Doppstadt DW-3060 shredder
a customised spraying system for a Doppstadt DW-3060 F-type mobile shredderused in the processing of waste wood such as furniture, boxes, chairs, logs, branches, pallets, panels and planks.
The machine operates both outdoors (in landfills and construction sites) that inside warehouseswhere materials are stored before shredding. To optimise efficiency, the hopper has been modifiedby raising it to better contain the waste during loading by a polypropylene boom excavator, thus reducing material dispersion.
During the shredding process, large quantities of dust develop both inside the hopper and in the discharge area of the conveyor belt. The customer came to us with the aim of minimise this emissionasking for a tailor-made atomisation systemsuitable for continuous operation and mobility of the shredder.
our plant
A system of steel pipes and nozzles for high-pressure atomisation around the entire perimeter of the hopper to intercept the powder during the grinding operation.
The implant was fixed externally to protect the structure from the blows of the material being loaded, while the nozzles were inserted inside the holes drilled on the hopper... meticulous work to ensure a long life of the implant.

The outlet section of the shredder was also prone to dust production, so we installed two lines of spray nozzles capable of directing water on both sides onto the belt.

Falling material on the ground was another source of dust, so we placed two supports with nozzles positioned at different angles at the end of the belt to intercept and capture the rising dust.

The atomisation system is powered by a high-pressure pump that requires a three-phase power supply and water connection.
Everything travels together with the shredder, system and pump.
Atomising for dust-free wood shredding
We combine the Doppstadt DW-3060 shredder with a fine water spray system: the hopper has been adapted to avoid dispersion during loading, while the micronised water jets retain suspended fine particles, breaking down the dust from the first pass
Why shredding wood dust is essential
Wood dust can cause respiratory irritation, allergies and explosion hazardsas well as settling on the machinery and impairing its operation. Targeted atomisation ensures better air quality, improved workplace safety and compliance with regulations.
